The Federal Results

The results have been finalized, and the Liberals have won a majority government with 184 seats, 14 over the majority. Conservatives have 99 seats, NDPs with 44, Bloc Quebecois have 10 and the Green Party has 1; their leader Elizabeth May. It's a bit disappointing to see the Green Party with only one seat, but it was a pretty big surprise for Bloc Quebecois to snag 10 seats.

The Student Vote Results

In Summit, the Liberals also won, thought they were neck and neck with the Conservatives. They ended up with 145 votes while the Conservatives had 143 votes. The NDPs had 95 votes, the Green Party had 35 and the Libertarian had 25 votes. The question is, did some people confuse the Liberal and Libertarian parties? If you had really researched the Libertarians, you would realize that their platform is quite different from the Liberals, thought they were both looking into legalizing marijuana.

To be honest, I wasn't a fan of Mr. Trudeau ever since I knew about the election. He isn't as experienced as the other leaders, which could be a huge disadvantage, and the Conservatives' favourite line, "And the budget will balance itself." wasn't a smart move on Justin's part. But then again, I wasn't sure how to feel about the other candidates. I know this is not necessarily a positive opinion, but most of those promises are empty air, and I'd rather not base my country's government on empty air, would you?
